(PRWEB) January 20, 2012

Universal Audio(UA), a leading manufacturer of professional audio recording hardware and software, is proud to announce Apollo?, a high-resolution audio interface that combines UAs analog design heritage with esteemed UAD Powered Plug-Ins in a sleek, elegant recording system for Mac and PC*. With Apollo, music producers and performers can finally track through UAD Powered Plug-Ins in real time, via a professional 18 x 24 FireWire/Thunderbolt-ready audio interface that delivers class-leading 24-bit/192 kHz sound quality.

Apollo is the culmination of 10 years of analog and digital audio development here at UA, said Bill Putnam Jr., Universal Audio founder. In many ways, its brought the analog and digital sides of our company together. With Apollo, were delivering the sound, feel, and flow of analog recording with all the conveniences of modern digital equipment, including next-generation Thunderbolt technology.

Apollo is, first and foremost, a well-built, high-resolution audio interface, featuring premium mic preamps and top-end converters to deliver the lowest THD and highest dynamic range in its class. Its Core Audio and ASIO* drivers ensure compatibility with all major DAWs, including Pro Tools, Logic Pro, Cubase, Live, and more. Moreover, Apollos Console application and companion Console Recall plug-in (VST/AU/RTAS) provide control and recall of all interface and UAD plug-in settings within individual DAW sessions, even months and years later.

Apollo differentiates itself from all other audio interfaces, however, via its onboard UAD-2 DSP Acceleration. This onboard processing allows for recording through UAD-2 Powered Plug-Ins with nearly instant sub-2ms latency so that music producers can quickly monitor, audition, and print audio using a wide range of popular analog emulation plug-ins from Ampex, Lexicon, Manley, Neve, Roland, SSL, Studer, and more.** In this way, Apollos sonic character and tonal options are virtually limitless. The onboard UAD-2 processors are also available for mixing and mastering, offloading processing from the host computer.

Notably, Apollo offers compatibility with Intels new Thunderbolt technology, as found on the newest iMacs, MacBook Pros, and MacBook Airs. Available via a user-installable Thunderbolt Option Card (sold separately), Thunderbolt provides lower latency, reduced audio buffer size, improved performance at high sample rates, and greater UAD plug-in instances versus FireWire.

Thunderbolt technology makes possible a whole new class of products to enhance music production workflows and creativity, says Jason Ziller, Director of Marketing and Planning for Thunderbolt technology at Intel? Corporation. Products like Universal Audios Apollo are using Thunderbolt to rock music producers worlds.

Apollo incorporates numerous design hallmarks from classic UA analog gear, including its fast, easy workflow. Dedicated front-panel controls are present for all the most common features, including preamp gain, channel selection, mic pad, +48V phantom power, low cut, monitor level, and dual headphone controls.

Apollos connectivity includes 4 digitally controlled analog mic preamps, 8 balanced line inputs and outputs, dual front-panel JFET DIs, digitally-controlled analog monitor outputs, 8 channels of ADAT, 2 channels of S/PDIF, word clock I/O, FireWire 800 (standard), and a Thunderbolt expansion bay making it a well-equipped centerpiece for the modern project studio.

The Apollo High-Resolution Audio Interface will be available in both DUO CORE and QUAD CORE processing formats (with either two or four Analog Devices SHARC processors, respectively). Apollo will be shipping in the first quarter of 2012, with an estimated street price of $ 1,999 (DUO processing model) and $ 2,499 (QUAD processing model). Apollos Thunderbolt Option Card will be shipping in the first half of 2012, with pricing TBD.

Wakefield, Mass (PRWEB) February 21, 2012

SEMPO, the leading international organization for the search and digital marketing profession, today announced that it has closed its pioneering educational arm, the SEMPO Institute. After evaluating the changing and growing needs of search and digital marketing professionals, SEMPO determined that it can better serve the community by offering more search and digital marketing webinars at various levels and by recommending educational and training material provided by others, as detailed in its February 1, 2012 announcement.

As of today, February 21, 2012, SEMPOInstitute.com will be unavailable and courses will no longer be offered. People who previously purchased courses will have access to them until March 31, 2012 by logging in at http://courses.sempoinstitute.com with their existing user Ids and passwords, and they can complete any course they have not yet completed by that date.

Closing SEMPO Institute allows SEMPO to focus our resources in manners that best meet the search communitys needs,” said Chris Boggs, president of SEMPO. “Many of the SEMPO Institute contributors now teach through other educational endeavors. The use of our non-profit organizations resources to maintain material available elsewhere does not seem wise.

In the five years since SEMPO released its first online course through SEMPO Institute, Fundamentals of Search Marketing, much has changed. In January 2007 the industry had few educational options. The industry has matured from $ 9.4 Billion to $ 19.3 Billion in size. Search Marketing has moved from IT departments to Marketing departments in most corporations. The professions that require search knowledge have expanded to include copywriters, public relations, web designers, and general marketers, and the educational offerings are growing in those channels accordingly.

Additional information can be found on the SEMPO website, http://www.sempo.org, or by writing toinfo@sempo.org __title__ info (at) sempo (dot) org.

About SEMPO

SEMPO is a global non-profit organization serving the search and digital marketing industry and the marketing professionals engaged in it. Its purpose is to provide a foundation for industry growth through building stronger relationships, fostering awareness, providing education, promoting the industry, generating research and creating a better understanding of search and its role in marketing. SEMPO includes thousands of professionals across 50 countries. The organizations mission is to represent the common interests of companies and consultants worldwide and provide them with a voice in the marketplace. SEMPO’s education and outreach initiatives are funded in part by Google, American Express Open SearchManager, and Baidu, and supported through partnerships with SMX, SES, OMS, MediaPost and GroupM Search. For more information or to join the organization, visit SEMPO.org.

Birmingham, AL (PRWEB) February 20, 2012

MEDSEEK, the provider of the healthcare industrys only enterprise strategic patient engagement and management solutions, today announced that keynote speaker, activist and leading advocate of patient engagement, e-Patient Dave deBronkart, will appear at the MEDSEEK exhibit, #1345, during HIMSS 2012 in Las Vegas. E-Patient Dave will speak twice, at 3:30pm PST on both Tuesday February 21 and Wednesday February 22, and MEDSEEK will be giving away 50 signed copies of deBronkarts book, Laugh, Sing, and Eat Like a Pig: How an Empowered Patient Beat Stage IV Cancer (And What Healthcare Can Learn from It).

During his appearances, deBronkart will address patient engagement from the patients perspective, and talk about the importance and value to both patients and physicians of patient engagement, opening up health data to patients, and empowering and equipping patients, the most underused resource in all of healthcare, to actively collaborate in their own care.

When I was dying of kidney cancer, Id never heard the term e-patient but I was one,” says Dave. “I used the internet every way I could, with my care team’s full support. Today Im fully recovered, and as volunteer chair of the Society for Participatory Medicine, I welcome the chance to speak at HIMSS with MEDSEEK, a long-time sponsoring member of our Society. They get it about e-Patients, and theyre working actively to make patient engagement a practical reality. Nobody does it better.”

e-Patient Dave deBronkart was diagnosed in January 2007 with Stage IV, Grade 4 renal cell carcinoma (kidney cancer) at a very late stage. His median survival time at diagnosis was just 24 weeks. He received great treatment at Bostons Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center, during which time he used the Internet to partner with his care team. By September 2007 it was clear hed beaten the disease.

It is an honor for MEDSEEK to host Dave deBronkart at HIMSS, said Rich Grehalva, MEDSEEK SVP of Strategic Services. e-Patient Dave is an inspirational speaker and a fervent champion of patient engagement. His personal experience as an e-Patient facing terminal illness and his perspectives on patient engagement are invaluable to hospitals, physicians and patients alike.

On Wednesday February 22, MEDSEEK will host a meeting of the Society for Participatory Medicine, a charity devoted to promoting the concept of participatory medicine by and among patients, caregivers and their medical teams. The charity promotes clinical transparency among patients and their physicians through the exchange of information, via conferences, as well through the distribution of correspondence and other written materials.

ABOUT e-Patient Dave

Dave deBronkart, widely known as e-Patient Dave, is a cancer patient and blogger who has become a noted activist for healthcare transformation through participatory medicine and personal health data rights. A successful speaker in high tech before his illness, he is today the leading spokesman for patient engagement, attending over 150 conferences and policy meetings internationally in the past two years. He serves as volunteer co-chair of the Society for Participatory Medicine.

An online community leader since 1989, he sought online resources in addition to receiving treatment at Bostons Beth Israel Deaconess. He responded well to high-dosage interleukin-2, and today he is well.

In 2009 his blogging about health IT put him on the front page of the Boston Globe and thrust him into DC policy discussions about patient access to medical records under Meaningful Use. Hes appeared in Time, U.S. News, and the HealthLeaders cover story Patient of the Future. In 2009 HealthLeaders named him and his doctor to their annual list of 20 People Who Make Healthcare Better. In 2011 his TEDx talk http://on.TED.com/Dave went viral globally, rising into the top half of the most-viewed TED talks of all time; volunteers have added subtitles in 25 languages. Its tagline is his appeal: Let Patients Help.
